Last week while preparing for Sparrow’s debut at the Chamber’s upcoming B2B tradeshow and wrapping up some design elements with our graphic guru, I worked on a few details of a private event for a wonderful friend. No matter the event, no matter the occasion, no matter the guests – clients, friends or family – everything needs to be 100% perfect, even the smallest of details. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My notes thus far…

Theme: French

Colors: Soft pinks with bold fuchsia, gray, and silver

Inspirations:

Everything and anything with a French vibe, including this picture taken in NOLA, which made the rounds on Pinterest. Sadly I cannot find the photographer’s name, but was able to trace it back to a Tumblr blog. Other pictures and ideas can be found on my “French Soiree, June 2012” Pinterest board.

Music: Pink Martini’s Hang On Little Tomato along with their other albums; Carla Bruni and Melanie Laurent are also in the queue.

Food & Table: I’m ready to visit every French bakery in Seattle in the name of research. I’m picturing simple and elegant; white table cloths and peonies; and bags of colorful macarons, from Le Panier.

Invites: Silver cardstock with a vellum overlay, held together by a fuchsia ribbon. I must admit, they’re quite fetching and were dropped in the mail last Friday afternoon. Here’s a sneak peek at the invite – and that’s a rubber stamp design, not my own doing.

The party is in June and I’ll follow-up with more details and pictures then.

Cheers!
